Nate Baldwin

 

 

Nate is 30 years old and is the only boy in his family.  He sits in the middle of four sisters!  Nate is the Owner/Director of Marketing @ Lincoln Title Insurance Agency.  His hometown is Pleasant View, Utah.

 

Here are a few facts about Nate when we asked him about his running:

 

Years running: 7 years since 2004

 

Weekly mileage:  Marathon Training 50-60miles, Triathlon Training 30-40miles

 

Favorite race distance or race:  Marathon, Olympic Distance Triathlon, Ironman Distance Triathlon

 

PR's - (5K, 10K, ½, mara, Ultra) or proudest running accomplishment:  5k: 17:42, ½: 1:24:04, Marathon: (Boston) 3:02.  My dream was always to run the Boston Marathon.  I never thought it would be possible since I am not a runner.  Thanks to Coach Paul Pilkington, Running Friends, Striders & my Family support that I was able to make it to Boston in 2009.

 

Favorite training run:  Roads and Canal in Pleasant View-North Ogden, Bonneville Shoreline

 

Why run - (motivation, inspiration):  Breaks up the day and lets the mind open up, healthy lifestyle.

 

Goals:  I want to continue to enjoy doing the sports Swim, Bike, Run.

 

Favorite music to run to:  Anything from 80's Rock, Hip Hop, Miley (the Climb), Country, & The Forgotten Carols.

 

Favorite running gear - (shoes, apparel, etc.):  Nike Lunar Racers (from Striders), Spandex from (Striders), My Garmin from (Striders) which will soon be laid to rest and upgraded to the 310xt from (Striders), Oakley Sunglasses.

 

Best advice you've been given as a runner:  Start Slow and finish Strong.

 

Best motivational quote:  "Somewhere someone is practicing and when you meet them head to head in competition they will beat you"  My Dad

 

Your role model:  My Best Friends.  Mom and Dad.  The most Balanced and Selfless people in the world.  The best Friends, Parents, Role Models a boy, person or a 30 year old could have.

 

Favorite food: All food.  Main Course: Steak, Pasta, Fish, Mexican, Pizza.  Desert:  Bread Pudding

 

Hobbies or interests other than running:  Golfing, Fly Fishing, all sports.

 

Anything else the world might want to know about you:  Still waiting for the Celtics to draft me.  I am not getting any younger.
