The hills get a little longer and a bit steeper for the WRC 10K coming up this Saturday, February 21st at 8:00am. If you're registered for the Winter Racing Circuit, packet pick-up will be Friday, February 20th at Striders from 10am -- 7pm. If you can't make it to the shop on Friday, you can pick-up your packet the morning of the race from 6:15am -- 7:30am in the east entrance of the Dee Events Center. The race starts on the east side of the Dee Center on the Weber State University campus.
If you are registered for the WRC 10K but do not plan on running, please let us know by contacting us at Striders.
We can always use volunteers at the 10K and other WRC races if you're willing to donate your time and efforts. Please contact us at Striders if interested.
If you want to join in all the fun and run the WRC 10K, registration is available at Striders for $30 or $40 if you wait to register the morning of the race. The registration fee includes a tech T-shirt. If you register for 3 of the 4 remaining WRC races, we'll give you a hoodie.
Registration is also available at Active.com via www.stridersrunning.com
The WRC 10K course features a 500 foot climb at about mile 4.5, other than that little hill, the course is really fast. Here's the 10K course link: http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=188627
There will be aid stations with water and Gatorade at mile 3 and mile 4.5 (right before you start to climb up 36th street). There will also be water, Gatorade and Tasty's treats at the finish line.
Without our generous sponsors there's no way we could pull-off the Winter Racing Circuit. With their help we are able to keep the race prices low for you and still pay to have police support, venues, aid stations, etc... So, if you're reading this in your home office or at work, let's stand up and give them a hand:
