Brittney Atkin

 

Brittney is 24 years old and the oldest of 4 siblings.  She was born and raised in Ogden, UT.  Brittney is a Personal Trainer and General Manager at Lifelong Fitness. 

 

Here are a few facts about Brittney when we asked her about her running:

  • Years running: 12

 

  • Weekly mileage: 20

 

  • PR's - (5K, 10K, ½, mara, Ultra) or proudest running accomplishment: I don't run as much as I would like to; competed in high school and was state champion cross country and track.  Unfortunately because of injuries and time I can not be as dedicated to training for races as I would like.

 

  • Favorite training run: Love to do hills and trail running.

 

  • Why run - (motivation, inspiration): Running is my out, keeps me sane!

 

  • Goals: To motivate and encourage people to do their best.

 

  • Favorite music to run to: Nickleback and Nelly

 

  • Favorite running gear - (shoes, apparel, etc.): Mizunos

 

  • Best advice you've been given as a runner: Know your limits but push beyond them.

 

  • Best motivational quote: "Forget past mistakes. Forget failures.  Forget everything except what you're going to do now and do it." William Durrant

 

  • Your role model: My mom (always taught me that once you commit to something there is no giving up)

 

 

  • Favorite food: Fresh homemade food; love to experiment with recipes

 

 

  • Hobbies or interests other than running: Weight lifting, anything active.

 

  • Anything else the world might want to know about you: My personal mission is to help others love exercise and eating well; if I can help make a difference in someone's life I know I'm doing my job.
