2012 updates on Italy Candidates

Daniel                  Taylor         Michael

Malik           Devon              Mickey

January 29th 2012

Today our lads had an opportunity to work out their
jet lag legs with an exhibition game. Positions played
today we as follows.
Daniel, Left back; Devon at right back; Michael Central Mid,
the right midfielder's position was filled by Mickey!
The left midfielder's role was the task of Taylor, while the
central striker role became the responsibility of Malik.
The concluded with a 2 vs 2 draw.
Malik having made several quality runs, Devon  equally so
with his overlapping runs, missed scoring after being tangled
with an opposing player, did give Mickey several good looks
with him netting the ball twice. Taylor can count his assist
along with Daniel on the second.

All in all our players performed very well to kick of their stay.

Switzerland
Alison and Jess along with their team mates walked away with a 4 vs 1 victory over their opponent yesterday. Jess played well however her "star" moment came when she stole the ball in defense dismissed 3 players on her way to just past half line mark. At this point she made a very nice threw ball for the Nigerian Player Sunday who crossed the ball to our Hungarian player who scored a nicely finished shot.

Alison scoring totals to date are as follows:
10goals 8gmaes 14assists. :) tomorrow I hope to add to those stats!!

April 09th-10th 2011

Les canadiens triumphs;
in regular league play this past weekend. After almost one full season at sea, the nets have been made filled with goals, all off the feet of our players! Capping this first season, success can be seen in the performance of Brandon in what was his “First” official League Start for the senior team and collecting his first assist. In one word, Masterful!

This weekend saw the coming together of all the lessons learned for these past months.

In this weekend’s earlier fixture, Anthony continued with two goals scored along with assist for his team’s win over their opponent. Since returning for this his second half of the season Anthony’s performance has slowly improved over each previous week’s performance proving his readiness for higher competition. He will continue with one more visit this week to Le Cannet-Rocheville.(see full game report lower)

Christian’s two goals along with his assist today almost seems to have come with such ease, it is clear he is now most ready to move on to more demanding and competition. This of course being the entire reason for him having been in this learning environment is now proving good timing as this season comes to its successful conclusion with the elimination of the competition today. It is expected that Christian will be Le Cannet-Rocheville this week. Coupled with his team mate’s performance, Matthew’s return from injury that earlier plagued his return to the second half of this season, has reflected a man on a mission of determined goal scoring. Having earlier played the number 6 position, (central defensive) giving him some experiences of the central game, the decision of the Technical Coach of the U17 first team, to place Matthew in the role of outside attacking fullback, later to the supportive outside midfielder attacker has been rewarded generously in goal production. With one more goal today and a couple of assist, Matthew has given excellent return on the decision of his Technical director. He too is expected to be at Le Cannet-Rocheville this upcoming week.

The senior team’s game today was share delight for, starting as the iron guard, Brandon, stalwart defensive play of Jerelle Jerelle and the continued cleverly skillful play of Marcus in the role of striker. Being a player in the defensive role your efforts are often times overshadowed by the performances of attackers with goals to tally.today showed that indeed, the game is changing for offensive minded players tasked with role of keeping attackers at bay. Jerelle from his defensive position, made several runs forward giving constant trouble to the opposition today. Robbed of a scoring opportunity by no less than two opposing fullback and then the goalie, Jerelle’s performance in today’s game, reflected the great benefit of his most recent performances in Italy last week, exceptional!

The game opened with a very cheeky penalty kick taken successfully against Valbonne’s starting guard today, Brandon. As if to show he was not the least bit rattled by the goal, within three minutes after the opening kickoff to restart the game, Brandon lobbed a long clearing ball to Marcus. Upon receiving the pass Marcus showed his abilities to change speeds, doing so no less than three times, each time at a higher level, against the same defender. Suddenly cutting at a 90degree angle in front of the defender, moving from the outside left position then  quickly faking a shot back to the very same outside left of the goaltender both the defender as well as the goaltender went to ground. Still as the real counter shot was taken, the catlike skills of the goaltender gave the fist touch safe. However with Marcus continuing his run towards the goal, the keeper was unable to stop the second shot that resulted in the tying goal.

Bandon, who has been kept out of goal for this season, has showed share brilliance once given this long awaited start. Twice the opposition broke into the six yard box and twice in succession they were frustrated by Brandon’s quick performance. Again within ten minutes of the tying goal, Marcus was feed a ball along, this time the right side and yet again he was able to maneuver himself between the defender and the goal keeper to finish putting his team up 2 goals to 1.

Not enough can be said about Brandon’s performance today, with so much riding on it being a good performance he got it all working for today’s start. His team showed their support of him with the third goal putting the game to bed.

Congrats to all Les canadiens!

Full Game Report: Valbonne Wins Again 6-2
  • The Game Started off Very slow with a few missed opportunities. Valbonne was First to score with Abdil (french player) struck the ball from outside the 18 making the game 1-0. Shortly after I was able to capitalized on a through ball given to me by placing it in the bottom corner going. This made it a  2-0 game.  Fontanne (the opposition team ) then struck twice unanswered to bring the game to a 2-2 score at half time.
The Second Half Valbonne came out with much more focus and determination. Within 10 minutes into the second half a cross came into the 18 boy and I was able to get a solid header into the net putting Valbonne up 3-2. With the game leading win withing sight, Valbonne became pumped up to win the game. Receiving the ball along the right wing, before successfully taking on the midfielder 1 v 1 then the defender 1 v1 I needed only to have sprinted to the corner. As I got to the corner a sudden sharp cut back relieved me of my defender giving me space to have played the ball to Jerome ( french player ) who in turn brought the ball into the 18 and gets fouled in which Valbonne is credited with a Penalty. Abdil takes it and gets credited for his second goal of the game. Valbonne then managed to close the door n the opposition by adding two more goals courtesy of Matthieu Nolay (french player)
April 07th 2011
Curtis, Jerelle and Marcus having had a very excellent
run in Italy returns to France later today. We await the
results of that Test. while
Anthony's run at Le
Cannet
-Rocheville may in face continue for one more day
on Monday. This too would seems to be going very well and
again we await the results of this Test. Congrats to all the Lads

April 7th 2011
Switzerland
Alison scoring has continued to show her ability to play at her club
league level and with the season about to open again, should have no
difficulties breaking into the game top line up.

April 06th 2011
After day one, with an early training session and a late
game today in Italy, all players felt that things went very
well. Good start and preparations for a second game to be
played on Thursday. Curtis, Jerelle and Marcus all have very
good reports on their performances today.

April 05th 2011
Since Brandon's most recent successful 2nd trip to Italy he has not
yet been offered the opening opportunity to take over the roll in
the French squad at the level that he is suited to play. Still we
are awaiting a response from his local Test earlier as part of the
threesome of players. Christian and Matthew have both been
anxiously awaiting their call to move to the higher ranks that
now has been identified for both players. Continue to watch here
for that news.

April 05th 2011
Today Anthony's training went well. He is expected to return
on Thursday and possibly Monday of next week.

March 27th 2011
Switzerland (brief report just received)

A successful week for all Canadians in Europe
starting with Switzerland, Alison scoring in her
second consecutive game and adding another
three assist to her tally to date.

U17 Team A
Game played on Saturday March 26th 2011

After an opening fight that saw at its core an automatic
six game suspension of play for one player, our Canadian
Lads got down to the business of playing Football. Matthew
carried on from where left off last week with his consecutive
game tallying his 7th goal in ten games. Not to be outdone,
Christian
also showed great form successfully adding another
goal to his list of goals for the season. Valbonne walked away
with a comfortable victory/

U19 Team A
A most important game fought for at today's U19A fixture.
Valbonne lined themselves across the center line from the first
place team to kick off today's match. Once again both Anthony
and Brandon had very good game today. Continuing with his
scoring for this his third consecutive game was Anthony, leading the
charge to see Valbonne's crew put another "W" in the win column.

Senior Team 2

The advantage came to Valbonne’s crew very early in the game
when Marcus received a through just over half, made a quick
change of direction, chipping the goalie and putting the ball in the
net. Within five minutes of that play, again the Football Gods smiled
on Valbonne when again Marcus was able to maneuver himself around
four opposition players to netting his 9th goal in his 7th game. Still
with all that play, it would be Jerelle’s entrance into the game at
around the 25minute mark that would prove to be the eventual
undoing of the opposition.

Jerelle entered the game and immediately made a visible impact. This
could possible have been his best complete game played to date. He had
both defensive and attacking runs that made the opposition’s life very
miserable. With two shots on net, Jerelle made a beautiful cross that fell
on the feet of the center midfield attacker, who volleyed a strike from the
18yd line directly into the net. With the rough played that ensued that final
goal would prove to be the game winner with the opposition tallying two
goals before the final whistle. In addition Jerelle, and room mate Yasuto
also got their first call back from this past week’s TEST.

March 20th 2011
U19 Team A
Having being off for the past week due to poor weather
conditions, Anthony showed he had not lost anything with
the time off. Scoring his first three goal game in this
competition, rallied his team to a 5 vs 2 victory.
We will give the honour of reporting the game to
Anthony!
""T
he Game went very well; down 1 - 0 in the first 15 minutes
I scored to tie the game 1-1,This helped to rally Valbonne
Shortly after we move to 2-1 (Matthieu, french player )
gaining me an assist. It became a 3-1 game from a free kick
taken 30 yards out which confused the keeper when Marcus
dummied the header. Again I received a through ball
and was able to place the ball in the  bottom corner giving us
a 4-1 advantage. Following a red card to one of our players
for a handball in the box, which resulted in a successful
penalty shot. As time came close to ending of the game
I struck my 3rd goal of the game by playing the ball
past the goalie and finishing it on the run."

March 19th 2011
U17 Team A
We had the return to action of Matthew this week
with a double tally of goals in Valbonne's 4 vs 0
victory this past weekend. Adding to his personal
tally of goals, Christian showed a very determined
performance after having to endured several weeks of
wet miserable weather conditions.

March 18th 2011
We had the return of Brandon and Yasuto, both
having had a successful week in Italy!

March 12th 2011

U17 Team A
Our Lads went down to defeat 2 vs 1 today.
Great weather for the opposition, lousy weather

(Riverside/RDA)

We  welcome our newest candidate in Europe
Ms. Alison Bojan Lemon From Canada. She is
a striker who arrived just yesterday morning
and today scored the opening goal for her
team today.
We won 3-1
"I had the first goal in the second half- driving
volley then right back to back goals from our
midfielder who took an off balance swing and
 placed
it very well> I then had an opportunity
to shoot but got clipped and the goalie
tipped it out for a corner. We scored on a
running header on the corner kick from one
of the defenders!"
over all...
The team is very serious in their play. Their
performance is better then many male team
I have seen. Very excited about training
this week.

February 27th 2011
Senior Team 2
This week saw our Senior 2 team hold on
for a tie 1 vs 1 to take one point from this
week's fixture. Anthony was offered very
little in terms of opportunity by the opposition,
still he was able to keep their defensive line
working very hard. Not one our finest
performances however our players were
able to show good character in getting the
job done. Our lone goal came from Marcus,
as assisted by Jerelle who continues to show
his ability to hold a very strong and determined
defensive line.

U17 Team A
This week no game for this fixture

U19 Team A
This week no game for this fixture

February  21st 2011
Update of Stefan. Now release from the
hospital, he will be recovering and giving
time for his arm to heal properly.

Senior Team 2
February  20st 2011
With the National holiday break Only one
fixture was on this weekend. Valbonne Lads
went down to a 1 vs 2 defeat. Our Canadian
bright spots continued with Anthony netting
Valbonne's single goal, assisted by his Marcus.
While Jerelle and Marcus both reported
having very strong midfield game.

February 18th 2011
Stefan is fine! He was the recipient of good
news from the medical team and now he will
be observed until Monday to ensure all is well.

February 13th 2011
U17 Team A
Yesterday, with both the Canadian Lads,Christian
and Matthew on the injury list, their team mates
made them proud by wining the game 4 vs 1,
maintaining first place in the division for the
second consecutive week.

U19 Team A
The U19 team A,  played today and was
complimented with Brandon as one of their
two Canadian strikers, Anthony who is just
returning from illness being the second. Brandon
was credited with one goal today, helping to
bring Valbonne to a 3 vs 0 victory.

Senior Team 2
Quote from the Technical Staff, "Jerelle
played at right defensive side and he did
an excellent game. Marcus, the second
Canadian representative on the team,

showed equally so his skill sets by netting
two goals, enabling Valbonne to draw a
crucial game at 2 vs 2. Great Jobs to the lads.

February 5th 2011
U17 Team A
At the end of regulation play today, the U17
First team, boosted in their ranks with addition
of
Christian and Matthew , with Christian
netting his forth goal in as many games,

Matthew's
stallworth stance in the # 6
position, also having the assist on his
Canadian mates goal, US Valbonne takes
sole position of first place in their league today.

Christian's forth consecutive week striking
the net US Valbonne tallied 4 goals
, winning
today's game 4 vs 3.
Matthew's role as
defensive midfielder continues to reinforce
Valbonne's drive to take command of first
for the first time this season. With the expected
arrival of one more member of the Canadian
crew, this should prove to be a most interesting
run as we draw closer to the final weeks of
this season's race for the top.

U17 Team A
Off for this week
Senior Team 1
Off for this week
Senior Team 2
Off for this week

January 29/30th weekend 2011 France
Senior Team 1
Anthony's opening run with the Senior
Fist Team of Valbonne was met with some
unfortunate results for him. Coming into the
game not quite 100 percent (due to slight
ankle stain) did have him moving a slight
step behind his known speed. The nagging
ankle may have played a part after only 35
minutes into the fixture, he fell and collided
with an opponent's cleat to his upper body.
This shorten his role for Sunday's fixture.
We do expect a full recovery and should
see him back to proper form within ten days.

Senior Team 2
Jerelle made his introduction to France with
a very good performance on Sunday~ After
getting the space of the European game, he
Zinged the post with a well intended shot
falling short of it's intended target. Pace is
evident in the need of his catching up to the
more conditioned players at this stage of
their league. Still time is on Jerelle's side
and he is very much expected to be on track
in a few weeks.

U19 Team A
Brandon continued to build in his confidence
and team bonding by assisting with the
team's man shortage. He played out for his
second week and again for the second
consecutive week showed that his versatility as
a goal keeper is not restricted to the area of
his net but in addition
he also has value as on
field player
.
Marcus made his France debut with the tagging
of one goal in his official maiden game. While his
touches were as we have known them to be, his
game speed and general aggressiveness on the
field of play will need to be picked up, as he now
has learned if he is to be competitive in the
European Football environment. This too we
expect to see changed over the coming weeks.

U17 Team A

After one half of a game US Valbonne lead
U.S. Plan De Grasse by a narrow margin of
one goal to nil. Under
very heavy rainfall
Matthew's role as defensive midfielder was
adjusted to the role of right flank attacker.
The change would seem to have assisted
the teams' attack and with Christian's third
consecutive week striking the net US Valbonne
tallied 3 goals to De Grasse's one to walk away
with 3 vs 1 victory. All in all not the best game
however a very focused win from all the players.

Supplementary players (new)
Stefan continues to train and will be doing so
as a part of a three man goalie crew for the
upcoming weeks. They will be the students of
the club's goalie's Technical trainer. On Tuesday,
the third and final member of this goalie crew
Yasuto will be arriving in camp, arriving from
Japan.

January 28th 2011 France
We announce the safe arrival of Stefan
this morning bringing the ranks of the
Canadian crew to seven members. We
still await the arrival of yet another member
on Tuesday with final arrival dates to be
confirmed for three more members
for this season.

January 26th 2011 Italy
First days feedback from
Stephanie,
""
YEA SERIOUSLY, IT IS AMAZING

January 25th 2011 France
Anthony is not up to his normal self today. He is nursing
what would seem a slight upset stomach or possible flu.
All others have been in good training form. The new kids
on the block, Marcus and Jerelle, are all reported to be
doing very well. The veterans, Brandon, Christian and a
Matthew are on schedule again right were they left off
prior to the Christmas holiday break.

January 24th 2011 ITALY
Stephanie, arriving in early mid-afternoon, was picked up
and immediately offered the chance to change and have
a light practice session. She will be in a Game environment
by Wednesday. This will be her first chance to measure
the world of Professional Football.

January 23nd 2011 (Marcus D-Huie now in France)
Since the return of the Canucks, the U17 crew have gone
2 an 0. Last week Matthew took his goal while Christian
took the only goal scored this past Saturday!
The U19 kicked off earlier today. We will have game
update later today.

January 20th 2011*update
The Canadians, second crew have all Landed safely.
Now the hard work begins. We are now awaiting the
arrival of the third and final crew for the January
window. They, one to Italy(female) should all all be
there by this time next week.

January  20th  2011
A beautiful
43F Mostly Cloudy day in Mougin
and the second crew should be arriving later today/

January 11th 2011
The first of the French crew members have
returned today! Arrival time in France
expected to be this time on Wednesday.
We are expecting to have a much busier
schedule this next session and with a re-
freshed sense of purpose it is expected
that some players will be forming longer
term alliances with clubs, possibly making
new homes for themselves.

Nov 23rd  2010
With the performance of our Lads:
and the cooperation of Genova International
Soccer Schools/ A. S Roma Canada and US.
Valbonne in France, our Lads have successfully
won the chance to play in the long anticipated
exhibition game against Olympique Gymnaste
Club Nice
Cte d'Azur or simply Nice of the
French league 1.
This game will take
place on December 7th in the late afternoon.
All members of the Canadian contingent will be
participating in this game. This will see Anthony,
Malik and Tryston joining their team mates of
Brandon, Christian and Matthew. Some
(maybe all) of our Lads will be playing with the
Italian squad. While others, if not on the
Italian squad, will play on the Nice squad.
This is a most exciting opportunity for our Lads.
At this time, early reports from Italy, where
Brandon, Christian and Matthew are in training
this week with an exhibition game to come on
Thursday, are very good for our Lads. They are
being received very well in camp and is expected
to lift the expectations of our other candidates
that will be participating Olympique Gymnaste
Club Nice Cte d'Azur
game in early December.

Nov 22nd 2010
|
Three of the Lads are now in Italy on
a two venue Test. Brandon the goalie,
Matthew as a midfielder/outside fullback
and Christian as a Midfielder/Striker.
Within a week or so the other three
Lads will also be on their own long
program Test. We will keep you
updated,

Nov 17th 2010

Count down to the Lads Big series of Test!
Some players will be in Italy, while others
will be in various areas of Central and or
northern France. Starting as early as
November 22nd our Lads will be of to their
first extended series of Test.
We will update you on the individual players
as well as the Testing grounds just as soon
as we get the green light to do so.
Nov 10th 2010

Here are the updates for the upcoming
Weeks; Anthony has been nursing a bruised
leg but is expected to be back running as early
as next week. We are at this time expecting
the Lads to travel to Zane for a period of
four days. They will be living in that location
and training within the Roma, Genova
International facility for the duration of their
stay.

One week after their return they will then
return to Torino for a Test Game on
December 01st. The Torino trip will be at most
two days. Again all players will be on this trip.
We are awaiting four other invitations which
will see the group of Lads split into possibly
three groups. More detail information on
these events to follow.

Nov 05th 2010

Here are the updates for this upcoming
weekend.
Tryston has his first important
competition as a member of his squad. He
will be testing himself in a most important
game against a reserve team which plays
in DHR (Division Regional Honor). This is a
division of players of which selections
could be made for play in the Premier
League.
Brandon has who in his official
license of the FFF (French Football
Federation) is now a player "French" to
all effects!
He should be in a game this
Sunday in the U19 Championship Pre-
Exellence. Brandon is suffering from a slight
leg injury however and game day decision
will be made as to his start.
Matthew and
Christian will also strengthen the U19 team,
conditional on timing of license.
Malik will be
resting this weekend.
Anthony's has a
sprained ankle and will remain idle until at
least Tuesday.

Nov 02nd 2010
With the reality of some good ole fashion
home cooking, as a result of a visit from
family, Brandon's training today was off the
Chart. He trained like a Man on a Mission.
The weather conditions over this past week-
has been far less than desirable. Still Tryston
Anthony and Brandon seemed not to have
noticed that in their efforts on the training
Field on this day. Tomorrow back to the
regular program for Matthew, Malik and
Christian.

Oct 24th 2010
Our 94's played on Saturday for the U17 second
team at home. While the team in front did not
manage to give any consistent difficulties our Lads
we still on point with their game. Matthew D-H, was
tapped for Man of the Match with some wonderful
ball skills and diagonal runs. Our senior man
Tryston was most consistent with the hard nose
kind of play we have seen so far while he has been
here. Anthony was given his first run with the top
squad and represented himself very well indeed.
Brandon, was on hold in the goalie's position as
this being a derby had the potential of some very
demanding back field communication and our boys
*(with the exception of Matthew) are just now
getting their refreshing coursed of French.

Oct 23rd 2010
Riverside Canada Football Academy will be making
a majour announcement on Monday October 25th
2010. It is widely expected that this announcement
will serve to enhance the early successes of their pilot
project that seen Canadian players train in the European
environment for a longer period of time. " We are most
exited about this new development and think it will
show our members that we are extremely serious
about changing the way in which we train our Canadian
players to compete internationally," stated staff at
Riverside Canada earlier today.

Oct 20th 2010
At the end of the exhibition game today, all players
were reported in good health. One unfortunate
incident was Brandon's documents and some funds

being stolen from the change room while he played.
We can assure you the Club is not at all please with
this situation and has begun all efforts in solving this
most unfortunate situation.

It is expected that on Sunday, Tryston *(Tri-ston)
along with Brandon will be playing with the Club's first
and or second team. At this time we do not yet have
the results of the Test exhibition game but will let you
know just as soon as we are given that information.

Oct 20th 2010
With Tryston having had his start with the Reserve
while having a very good chance of moving to the first
team as a regular starter, it is widely expected that
Brandon will have a start, possibly, with the first team
this coming Sunday!

Today our Lads will be showcasing in a Test!
This game will be supervised by a person who
represents the club OGC Nice, the club of Frejus
and St Raphael there will be 2 people working for
different professional club in northern France.

The 2 next match still to be confirmed, but I
can already tell you that there will be in St Etienne
while the other in Italy.

Oct 16th 2010

Today most of the Lads were involved in
Competition. Those who were not involved
today will have their turn shortly. Christian
played with the U17 group
one honneur and
tied 2-2. while Malik played with the U17
Pre Exellence winning that game 3 to 1,
Malik increasing his goal tally with one today.
Matthew and Anthony played with the U19
Pre Exellence, to a 3 to 3 draw. Brandon and
Tryston (Tri-ston) were in reserve today
awaiting their turn. At the conclusion of today's
activities every one went bowling, eat and enjoyed
the remainder of their day. Congrats to the Lads
on another successful day.

Stade Brest
Oct/15th /2010

We finally have our invitation from
Stade Brest for the Canadian Lads/
Earlier today we were officially invited
to travel to the north of France for a Test
with the French League 1 team.  This
will be a ONE week long Test. For
a preview of their present standings
see the link to the right of this article.

Oct 13 2010
TEST for the French crew

It is fully anticipated that several of our Lads
will be going off on Test within the next week
or two. While we await the return call for Anthony
from
Olympique G. Club Nice, we are now anticipating
two other calls for Matthew, Christian and Malik.

Brandon and Tryston are widely expected to be the
Lads on the front line for the senior teams. Both Brandon
and Anthony are (as we understand) both potentially
European passport holders. This would place them in
a most privilege position when being viewed by
any potential Club Director. Christian already is a
holder of a European passport. Still a passport will
not in and of itself make any difference on the skill
of the holder. It is therefore most important that
the Lads stay focus in mind and body. In the case of
Matthew, Malik and Tryston, *(tri-ston)* not holding
a European passport simply means their efforts will
most likely be focused on mainly First Div Teams or
Serie A teams in the case of Italy.

However, making a good Test in front of any other
none-league one team will still result in a very good
opportunity for them to be placed into that desired
leagues. We will be back here once we are in
position of the invitations.

Bulldogs Take a Bite Out of Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. ??" The Adrian College men's soccer team
got a key victory on Saturday over MIAA opponent Olivet,
who was ranked sixth in the central region by the NSCAA.
With the 2-1 victory, the Bulldogs leapfrogged the Comets
into second place in the MIAA. The Bulldogs are now 5-7
overall and 4-2 in the MIAA.

Adrian's first goal came off a corner kick, when an Olivet
played headed the ball into their own goal. Olivet scored
the equalizer in the 68th minute. The game-winner for
Adrian came only a few minutes later in the 77th minute
when sophomore Cazz Warren fed the ball across to box
to freshman Marcus Derrick-Huie who put the ball in the
back of the net. Warren also had two shots on goal for the
night.

The defense for Adrian played solid as they limited Olivet
to only seven shots in the game and only three shots on goal.
Senior goalkeeper Alex Pavlika made two stopped to give
Adrian the win.

The Bulldogs will play host to MIAA opponent Alma College
on Tuesday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m.

France Project
After the very first week of working in France our players
were well received and responded with some very skillful
exhibition play. To this end, Anthony Smith,(one of six players
representing Canada) was granted his first test at OGC Nice.
He will be returning later this year for his second Test. Equally
so, Tryston Mahoney has been invited to train with the First
team of the host club.
Brandon Cranston who had a very good opening training
session has also been training with the first team's goal keepers
trainer. For the '94 Lads, Christian Kusiewicz, Malik Bernard,
and Matthew Derrick-Huie, this has been a world of welcomed
change for them.
Matthew Derrick-Huie, who have found his new position of
confidence in the midfield has shown flashes of ball skills that
has certainly impressed his new family of soccer associates.
Having made several key passing plays in his first exhibition
games as well as his being able to manage the level of U19
play being offered as a part of his training, he has shown that
he is here to do the business of learning and perfecting his
craft in this sport.

Christian and Malik, both having goals in their opening
performances, have continued with the same gusto in their
opening U19 exhibition with Christian scoring three times in
that match. the demanding conditioning and speed of play
have been matched by these players. Here too we find the
seriousness of wanting to improve being exhibited by these
individuals.
Next to come will be Tryston's  as well as Brandon's Test!
Followed by Test for the '94 lads.

Report from Italy on Riverside Player's participation in recent tournament.

Great success for il Primo Raduno Internazionale, held at the "Bianco" in Gallipoli on May 31 and again on the 1st and 2ndof June. A prestigious showcase for many kids coming from all over Italy and abroad, who have showcased their qualities before the eyes of experienced observers and insiders.

Max Leghissa promoter of the event, and the current youth current observer for Triestina Calcio and commentator forTélérama, tells us exclusively for SalentoSport about these days of full immersion in the world of youth and soccer: "The report of the collaboration with Georgio Bisson includes an internship at his Football Academy in Valbonne (Cannes, ed) for the most interesting players seen at the showcase. This means that most of the players seen have adequate skill level to play at the high levels. For the realization and success of the showcase,  we also thank in addition to the aforementioned Georgio Bisson, Orazio Buonasera, Sicilian observer, Nino Marra talent scout and Cristian Minardi goalkeeping coach For Ravenna. "

Among the few examples of distinguished players are Matthew Assez (born in '93, currently with the club Frejus), who has attracted the attention of Taranto, and Nocerina Triestina who have requested young Frenchman return to them, and even Anthony Smith ('92) who moved Carpi and other clubs of Serie D to express much interest. Also for Trieste-even the very young Chris Pierzchala ('94), Canadian midfielder. In addition Como, have set their eyes on Niclolas Bizi ('94). Seny Diediou ('84), the best known and experienced player present at the meeting, has several offers, including one from China. Also important was showcased the development of Bernard, Castro, Sacco, Chiappetta, Leo, Palombella, Corrado and Gianfreda. All young people born from '93 to '96.

Last session we were inundated with demands for information about Testing long before the players were properly ready to do so. That was, mostly due to the need of the French Technical Staff to satisfy our anxiety to get our players into a TEST environment. This session will NOT be handled in that manner. Starting immediately you will find here ONLY CONFIRMED Testing dates for specific player/s or group of players. What will be made available however are those plans that are to be confirmed without the player/s or group of players' names attached.

So in keeping with that new change we are expecting to be sending out player/s next week on Test to Central France. We are expecting to be updated late Friday or Saturday our time.

Marcus Derrick-Huie Named MIAA Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week
ROYAL OAK, Mich.  – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic
Association has named Adrian forward
Marcus Derrick-Huie
its Offensive Player of the Week
in men's soccer for games played through November 6.

Derrick-Huie, a freshman from Mississauga, Ontario,
Canada (Clarkson Secondary School), had a goal and
two assists in leading Adrian to a 5-3 win over Olivet.
The victory clinched third place for the Bulldogs, their
best MIAA finish ever and their first winning season in
conference play in 27 years. Derrick-Huie is being
honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his
career.
This is the first time in school history that four different
players have been named player of the week in a season
(Cremeans, Brower, a. Pavlika and Derrick-Huie). Adrian
has never had more than two different players honored
in a single year.

November 3, 2010
Marcus Derrick-Huie Has Career Night
with 4 Points,
Bulldogs Defeat Comets in Physical Game 5-3,
Still One Point Out of MIAA Lead
ADRIAN, Mich. On a chilly Michigan evening, the
Adrian College men's soccer team took down
Olivet College who was only one point behind
them in the conference standings. With the 5-3
victory, the Bulldogs improve to 9-8-2 overall
and 8-3-2 in the MIAA on the season.

The Bulldogs and Comets battled it out in Adrian's
most physical game of the year. The 48 fouls
committed by both teams, 24 each, is the highest
for the season. Both teams were also whistled for
a combined nine yellow cards. Adrian tied a
season-high with five goals, while the eight
total goals scored was a season-high in a game.
The Bulldogs also outshot the Comets 23-8 and
shots on goal 13-5. Adrian got the scoring started
early as sophomore Billy Cremeans
scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season
off assists from the freshman duo of Morgan Copeland
and Marcus Derrick-Huie. Olivet tied the game with
a goal in the 29th minute. It didn't take long for Adrian
to regain the lead, as
Marcus Derrick-Huie scored his third
goal of the year with two minutes left in the period
off assists from freshman Mitch Aguilera
and sophomore Travis Smith.

Olivet again tied the game as they connected on a
penalty kick that was awarded. The game remained
quiet for the next 20 minutes as no goals were scored,
even though Adrian had several opportunities but
could not find the net.

In the 77th minute, sophomore Aaron Armstrong
headed home his first goal of the season off a free
kick from Cremeans. The pace picked up in the last
five minutes. Adrian struck first with a chip shot from
20 yards out off the foot of freshman Quinton Wallace,
netting his first goal of the season off a long pass from
freshman Vince Behnke. The Bulldogs score three
minutes later on a 2-on-1 breakaway as it was again
Marcus Derrick-Huie who fed the ball across the box to
sophomore Justin McCurbin who scored his first goal
of the season. Olivet would again be awarded a penalty
kick only 17 seconds later, and would convert for the
final score of the match.

Playing his final home game, senior goalkeeper
Alex Pavlika
made two saves. Adrian will wrap up their
season as they travel to Alma on Saturday, November
6 for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. The Bulldogs can win the MIAA
conference with a win and a loss or tie by Hope and Calvin.

Men’s Soccer Wins, Remains 1 Point Out of
First in MIAA

ADRIAN, Mich. The Adrian College men's
soccer team stayed in the hunt for the MIAA title
with a 1-0 overtime victory on Saturday over
Kalamazoo. With the win, the Bulldogs are now
8-8-2 overall and 7-3-2 in the MIAA.

Needing a win to stay a point behind both Calvin
and Hope who won Saturday, the Bulldogs were
able to shutout the Hornets who earlier in the
season scored three times. Adrian remained one
point behind the leaders atop the MIAA with two
games remaining in the season.

Both teams battled back-and-forth for the first 90
minutes as neither team was able to bury the ball
home as both teams combined to take 28 shots in
regulation. As the game went to overtime, the
action settled down as it was not until two and a
half minutes into overtime that the first shot was
taken, and was the only one needed. The
Kalamazoo goalie bobbled a sophomore
Billy Cremeans free kick and freshman
Matt Plawecki
was there to clean up the mess
and drill the ball into the goal for the victory.
Both Cremeans and Plawecki had solid games
as Cremeans took six shots, two on goal, and
Plawecki had five shots, with two on goal. Senior
goalkeeper Alex Pavlika made a season high 10 saves
to earn his second shutout in a row and fourth on
the season. Adrian will return to action on
Wednesday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. as they
host Olivet College.

Bulldogs Fall in 2OT to Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. The Adrian College
men's soccer team had an opportunity to
extend its lead in the MIAA standings on
Tuesday, but fell in double overtime to
Hope College, 2-1, at Van Andel Stadium.
The Bulldogs are now 7-8-2 overall and
6-3-2 in the conference and fell a point
behind  the Flying Dutchmen in second place.
There are currently six teams within five
points of each other with three MIAA
matches left. The winner of the regular
season earns the automatic berth in the
NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Bulldogs outshot the Flying Dutchmen,
21 to 11, on the night and eight to five in
shots on goal. In the second half alone,
Adrian outshot Hope 14-3.

Hope jumped out to an early lead with
eight minutes left in the first half.
The Bulldogs remained down until 1:21
